Our Water Projects

De Grendel 25 Mℓ Reservoir

De Grendel 25 Mℓ Reservoir and Related Pipework

Client: City of Cape Town

Location: City of Cape Town

Design and construction of a new 25 Mℓ reinforced concrete reservoir supplying the De Grendel water supply zone with 48 hours of storage capacity, built in two phases including 600mm dia Ductile Iron rising and gravity mains, and a road crossing via pipe jacking. The reservoir has an inside diameter of 65,0m and a depth of 8,15m.

Strandfontein SWRO Desalination Plant

Emergency Water Resilience Project: SWRO Desalination Plants — Strandfontein

Client: City of Cape Town

Location: Cape Town, Western Cape, RSA

Investigation and implementation of temporary Sea Water Reverse Osmosis desalination plants during the City's worst recorded drought. Three plants were awarded for construction, with Strandfontein (7 Mℓ/d) commissioned in May 2018 and operating successfully since.

Mokolo and Crocodile River (West) Augmentation Project (Phase 1)

Client: Trans Caledon Tunnel Authority (TCTA)

Location: Lephalale, Limpopo, RSA

Design and construction supervision, as part of a consortium, of Phase 1 of the MCWAP project: a pump station with a 1000mm ND suction pipeline, a 900mm ND rising main 4.6km long, and 800–1100mm ND gravity pipelines 37km long, delivering 1258 l/s to end users.

Assmang's Khumani Mine Water Resource Augmentation

Client: Assmang Khumani Iron Ore

Location: Kathu, Northern Cape, RSA

Groundwater source development to augment Khumani Iron Ore Mine's existing supply from the Vaal Gamagara bulk water scheme, including option analysis, geophysical surveys, gravity traverses, cost analysis, detailed design and phased implementation.
